HONOLULU — Hawaii coach Norm Chow says his team has let go of two assistant coaches after finishing the season 1-11.

Chow said Tuesday that defensive coordinator Thom Kaumeyer and linebackers coach Tony Tuioti will not be back for the 2014 season.

Kaumeyer led a defensive unit that had a down year after finishing 41st nationally in total defense in 2012. This year, the Rainbow Warriors allowed more than 30 points in all but one game — a 28-21 overtime loss to San Diego State. Hawaii gave up more than 40 points five times.

Kaumeyer previously spent four years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, coaching defensive backs.

Tuioti spent six seasons with Hawaii. He was a former defensive tackle for the Rainbow Warriors.
